FOREST USE

Forest use means usage of its resources – timber harvesting, forest ground cover harvesting, whole or partial plants harvesting for pharmaceutical industry, obtaining conifers, exploitation of minerals, but also significant part forests play in reducing greenhouse effect. The foresters enable the society to use forest crops in a manner ensuring its continuity and sustainability.

The State Forests are the main supplier of wood on the Polish market.

 

The structure of wood harvesting from the forests of Gubin Forest District is as follows:

●      Pre-cut harvesting (wood is obtained during silvicultural activities)  - 35,740 cubic metres,

●      Harvest cutting (logging) - 35,950 cubic metres.

The overall wood harvesting in Gubin Forest District reaches 71,690 cubic metres.
